I used to be in ITF too but I got out.
I wasn't learning how to fight
I was learning to be a softy cuz it was light sparring xD
Street Fights are not the same because there is no referee
to step in and let you stand up
-
You forget one thing. There is no referee on the street to say
"Fight" so it is not the same.

@FRANKMANNACO700 There is a crazy assumption that all TKD looks like WTF. I love ITF TKD because of its versatility and ability to move through several ranges. WTF is a great art and is not completely represented in this clip but you do tend to fight (in the street) like you spar due to the drilling and reflex development consequently constantly relying on off balance kicks, no guard and no hand techniques could cause some issues. At least its unique.

It depends on your perspective and understanding.
I was telling him what was allowed in a WTF competition. I was using aikido as an example.
Sorry, i made a mistake in this part:
" tenets of ITF doesn't teach you to that"
It was supposed to be this:
"the tenets of ITF doesn't teach you to do that" (he was telling that ITF was better than WTF)
-
@Jojoj071793 So you start off with:
"The truth is WTF really use punches, competitors use it in competition but..."
Then,
"Look at Aikido, they just throw away anything that is..."
And,
"tenets of ITF doesn't teach you to that"
And your conclusion is:
"The Bottomline is ITS ALL IN THE FIGHTER"
How stupid are you? (hint: the "bottom line" completely contradicts everything you said before it)

@spinkicker43 you know what tho, he's got a point, why don't people who practice WTF keep a guard? Is it just excepted as the way to do it because no one else does it? Im only saying cos I practice ITF and i can't imaging not wanting to guard my head against a heavy kick. All TKD is brilliant tho =)
