I think that this Tenor Sax is under rated and that it has a good tone, but (more than that) a full range of sound. Much like a Yas-23 you have a full body of sound, but at the same time you have a free-blowing horn. The ease of blowing makes you feel like you can do anything. Unfortunately I haven't heard very good remarks on this Tenor, and I believe that playing a horn that's too good to be true, may actually be in the long run. Its hard to say a sax is really good unless its been played for a WHILE in my humble opinion.

  • This is a great horn. I have a Selmer Super Action 80 and needed a backup horn. The Super Action is a 7000 US$ horn while the Prelude is 800 US$ horn. To me, I really can't tell the difference when playing, and the Prelude made, in China by Conn-Selmer, (co9nfusing brand names) seems to be a copy of the Super Action.

  • agree.
