  • this guy is dumb! All of us real rotary owners know that switching from twi s to single improves the power and reliability dramatically. especially when you know how to take care of it, but ask any one if you have any car with some real power, it's very important to join FORUMS. im going to end this by sayi g learn about somethi g before talki g out of yiur theory as if it were important advice. and its more than pride withall the negative feedback this vid got.

  • @Twanhill125 lol. I have a GT35R Ball Bearing Ceramic Coated single turbo. watch my other videos. This one was made for fun.

  • this is total bullshit, the rx7 is a legend n a beast for 19 years strong n still runnin hard , im gonna thumps down this video n throw it out my window doin 280 on the highway in my rx7

  • @codeblak4 lol it was meant to be sarcastic. I beat the hell out of this car and she takes it. People worry that its sensitive to destruction.

  • After watching this video, I can tell that the reliability of this car lies in the driver. I can see why you can't get this car to be reliable.

  • @jts4k lol. we agree on something. Im always experimenting.

You cant disagree that this car requires more maintenance than a normal car. ;-)

  • 1)What about the quick oil changes?

2)What about the warm up before you boost it and wot? etc. etc.

Bro please make another video and speak with more respect for the RX7 is a legend...

  • This video is meant to be sarcastic right...?

For a 15+ year old car my FD is very reliable, and I have it pretty well modded (pushing 380 rwhp). I drove round trip from FL to NY this year, and went on at least 2 "cruises" (read: lots of fast aggressive driving) and the biggest problem I had was an oem clutch line failure (easy fix).

My car runs great, makes a lot of power, and almost never lets me down (no more often than any other 15+ year old car would!)

  • Notice he didnt mention what he did to make it break!

  • you made my day... hahaha i love my car :)

  • V8 swap = problem solved

  • its as simple as DOING YOUR RESEARCH and understanding that rotarys are a totally different animal and turbochargers also need special attention (hoses, lines, etc.)

if you can understand rx-7s and the responsibility that comes along with them youll have an extremely pleasurable driving/owning experience

  • I daily drove my first FD for 6 yrs and put 196,xxx miles on it. I beat the shit out of it daily, with at least 10 8500rpm runs everyday. It was a tank. it was only a 109mph car, but she was awesome.

I always warmed it up fully before boosting.

    I always used 93 octane.

I always coasted to a stop to let the turbos cool down.

i always changed the oil at 2500miles.

    Things that broke:

    Power plant frame (in half)

A small c-clip controlling the flapper between turbos.

Window switch and a door handle

  • @emerciv~ do u know that the wankel has no tolerance for detonation?.... unlike a piston engine.

U probably got some detonation and thats why it broke.
