Hi there, as a puppeteer myself, I must tell you that your puppets look great! However, as a puppet designer I though you should know that to make your puppets not look corss-eyed, keep the white part of the eyes close together on the face and the place the pupils towards the bottom of the white and towards the center of the face. By making them cross eyed on the face, they wont look cross-eyed to the audience. It is complicated to explain. Also, OPEN the mouth on each syllable, don't close it.
