Not Your Enemy {Nick Jonas Love Story} Chapter 4 "Because I Care" Des. Box

I quickly turned around very scared.

"Oh, its you" I said.
"Yeah, sorry I scared you." he said.
"It's alright." I said.
"May I ask why you left?" he asked.

I sat down with pain in my back. The reason it hurts is because I broke my Sacrum, my hand, and my leg. But the worse was the Sacrum. It's like part of your back and it hurst when you sit, when you walk, and even when you sleep. You may ask how I broke it. Two months ago, my plane crashed and it was a miracle that I lived. Now I'm scared of everything. The dark, heights, getting hurt. Cause when you see your life flashes through your eyes, it pretty much scares everything out of you. I just couldn't tell my mom or Sara.

"Why do you care?" I snapped at Nick.

I didn't mean to say that. It just came out. I just didn't want to get detailed about it.

"Because I care..." Nick said.
"Yeah, sure you do!" I said then got up and turned around.
"I don't get you Alyssa?!" he said.
"What's there to get?!" I said.
"I mean you never talk, and you are mean. Why are you like that?" he asked.

I just started to walk away not wanting to say anything about what he asked and didn't want him to see the tear that was slipping down my cheek.

"So that's it? You're just gonna run away when you get scared?" he said.

I turned around.

"You wanna talk?! Then talk?! I yelled at him.
I just wanted to make sure you were okay but since I 'don't care' then I shouldn't be here." he said.
I want you to be here I'm just not used to people caring." I whispered looking down.
"Why? Your mom and Sara care about you a lot Alyssa. You have to step out of your box. You have to put down your wall" he said.
"No one has ever tried to break them." I said looking at him in the eyes and then looked back down.
'I've know you for less than a day and look at me, I'm already trying to break the walls."
I looked at him again in his eyes.
I saw in his eyes something I never thought I would see. Kindness, caring, and yet some how fear.
