  • no resistance in this swing. the hips turn more than the shoulders going back. hips are like 60" turned and the shoulders about 30:. I understand his point, that's why every teacher has their own "schtick" - I hate this particular "schtick" - timing it would be impossible. maybe it's just the drill, would like to see him hit some shots before I took his advice. way too much hip turning. hip movement is a result, not a fundamental .the secret is in the dirt, meaning the feet.

  • @ascii456 So Bobby Jones was wrong huh!? Jack too? You will come around one day; it does not have to be now; I was where you are 20 years ago; I am a PGA Medalist by the way and have a few long drive competitions under my belt also...so yes, I can play and I can hit the crap out of it; Shawn

  • Begun using this drill and "wow" the power you can generate.I was turning the hips has fast I could to left field has I was taught and coming over the top before.I can see this from my vids.Thank You Shawn I am having more fun looking back at the other players drives again.

  • @ggkolar Way to go! Much better than the old butt against the chair drill! Thank you for the comment! Shawn

  • HI Shawn,

Just a quick question, I'm having trouble incorporating this move with the move from the video Best Downswing Weightshift; #1. I'm just curious does the move where you step on your left foot happen to transfer the weight happen simultaneously with the move of forcing your left side back to the window? I seem to struggle trying to incorporate both these moves and any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • @kb8228 It is one or the other; which ever feel better to you as they come to the same end result; you also want to see "create serious speed; shawn clement", "feet together and one leg update; shawn clement" and "horse shoes and lassos; shawn clement" to feel the rhythm and timing of these moves; you will understand what I mean when you see the videos! All the best; Shawn

PS; feel free to ask these kinds of questions in my forum; we have a great bunch of people there to help!

  • @ascii456 Looks like you make judgements a-little before knowing all the facts...?

  • It's not just what you teach here Mr. Shawn Clement, it's how you teach it! I always seem to find a way to feel these movements from your description and my golf is improving out of sight as a result. Many many thanks!!!

  • Clemshaw continuum to show his genius. Thank you bro.

  • Now that is an excellent visual. Thanks again Master Shawn =)

  • Shawn, I think that you are such great teacher. You keep things simple for me to understand, and you help me have patience and determination to get better.

  • For years i`ve been told to " rotate " my hips, which has only caused me to struggle with standing up during the swing with the right hip moving towards the ball. This instruction has changed my golf swing forever for the better in many ways -- even my balance. I might just add though that just by moving my left "butt" straight BACK ( away from the ball ) at the transition, seemed enough.

Thanks so much Shawn. Rod, from Sydney Australia.

  • This drill has unlocked an issue I've been troubled with for a long time, thank you Shawn.

  • I can't believe I discovered this video only now. I used to lose my position with the right hip and spin out. This removed a lot of confusion I had with how the lower body is supposed to start the downswing and how the head is supposed to stat back. Great analogy of the right hanky wiping the glass, then the left hanky connecting and wiping through. I tell you I hit my drives better, farther and, more importantly, more consistent today than I ever did. Thanks and more power! Ian, Philippines.
