Riding the elevator at the Homewood Suites on the Motor Mile in Columbia, SC, with our favorite friend, the security camera! This hotel is next door to Dodgeland and across from Galena Chrysler, Jeep, Kia.

  • Yes, and it's quite rare to see new elevators use dry power units.

  • There is another ThyssenKrupp elevator like that in Columbia.

  • The dry power unit has the fluid tank on top, the controller in front of the tank, the oil cooler/heater on the side, and underneath the tank is the motor/pump, valves, and silencing muffler. They used to be very popular, but have fallen by the wayside by submersible/wet pump power units, which has all mechanical parts in the fluid tank.

  • What's a dry power unit?

  • Looouuud motor.

  • Nice motor sound from the elevator equipment room next to the elevator.
