2012 juarez, my 2006 ss just had that problem and my engine light was on. if yours is on then get it scanned at autozone. mine was the thermostat. most likely the same thing

The 2.2s didn't have Variable Valve Timing until 2009. The 2009 and 2010 2.2 Cobalts should have it though. The HP and Torque difference is very minimal from what I'm reading.
