come a LONG way since rooting the G1. Can even get that old hardware to run 2.2 smoothly.

The core of Android is running linux, and you can gain access to all of the software libraries and hack the hell out of your phone. If used in productive ways, you've pretty much turned your phone into a functional pocket computer with terminal accessibility. Much better if you have UNIX experience, and check out my channel if you want to see linux videos.

@surryj go to xda forums. bro its easy to do it just root and flash cyanogenmod 6. they even have a wiki to show you the steps. good luck
