the newest version of Xcode on lion is a bit different... isn't it?
-
@samcallick its for dynamic sakes. lets say we have 20 of those statements that says my favorite number is 20. it would be a bad practice to hard code all those "20" in all that 20 statements. instead he stored it in a variable so that when the time comes he will only have to look into one place to change something and the rest will be affected.

Whats keeping me from just using printf instead of NSlog? as i understand it, objective c is just an extension of the ANSI C language...
-
@samcallick To explain it. He's showing an example.

Why wouldn't you just write:
NSLog(@"My favourite number is 20");
Why do you need to beat around the bush and play games with this: my favourite number is something, wanna guess what it is? you wanna guess? ok I'll tell you, 20.
No. My favourite number is 20
Why do you have to do that thing?

It would be very helpful if for every video you could paste the code in the description :)

@KrochInSky Well then you'll never become a programmer with that attitude. Maybe try learning C, C++ first (avoid .NET shit) then move back to obj C and it'll be easier (promise).
Just hate it when people expect to be able to make a £1,000,000 APP without knowing the basics... -_-
