Sorry, but the weather report was correct. We got 6 inches of snow on Sunday, and skating conditions are now poor. I recommend the skridsko.net website. They run a messaging service that tells us as soon as any members have found usable ice anywhere. The site is in Swedish, since Sweden has better conditions and more skaters than Norway. Lakes that were open on Sunday, and that have frozen since, may have good ice now.

Yes. The ice on lake Vansjø is FANTASTIC today. No problem to find ice enough for a 250 km trip. Too bad it's going to snow tomorrow.
