Chico & the Soneros, a Salsa & Latin Jazz band based in Auckland, New Zealand, with members from Latin Americas and New Zealand. The Soneros have recently released Dancing' All Night (a remake of a popular 80s Japanese hit by Monta & Brothers) in both Japanese and Spanish languages. The band was originally created early 2009 for a one-off show, bringing authentic Latin rhythm to New Zealanders. The band, which at that time, remained un-named was a success bringing followers from not only Auckland, but throughout New Zealand. In June 2009, Chico (the lead vocal & musical director), put together a selection of NZ's most noted Latin & Jazz musicians, and Chico & the Soneros was launched with a sell-out launch party at the Chameleon Bar (formerly known as El Inca) in June 2009.

Chico & the Soneros: Salsa has 9 members, playing catchy Latin American Salsa, Merengue, ChaChaCha & Cumbia (from El Gran Combo, the Spanish Harlem Orchestra, Ruben Blades, Afro-Cuban All Stars, La33, Ray Barreto, Africando, Marc Anthony, Fruko y sus Tesos etc) plus original songs.

The Soneros: LatinJazz has 5 key members, playing classic Latin Jazz, Flamenco and Jazz Manouche. Musicians from the Soneros are multilingual, singing in languages such as Spanish, English, French, Chinese, Japanese and Italian. They are also widely travelled and versatile, having repertoires cater for every occasion.
