YOUR GOD (NOT MINE) (I. Davies/S. Mundey)
-----------------------------------------

you kissed the feet of a holy man
you climbed the mountain and now you're back again
and did he give you the master plan?
some bad advice, an account in Switzerland

[chorus begin]
say your prayers, crawl on your
hands and knees, bow down to Your God, not mine
Save your temple and save your
den of thieves, it belongs to Your God, not mine
[chorus end]

now you're launching some mystical messages
misguided missiles like birds into the blue
drifting over a promised land
a trial of smoke and they disappear from view
somewhere over the borderline
negotiations... a waste of precious time

(chorus)

call all the faithful to attention
stand at ease, hear the word of Your God, not mine
up against the wall, true believers
welcome home, give it up to Your God, not mine

I hear you're feeling much better now
(strange that none of this ever bothered you before)
now that you've made your apologies
all is forgiven, made clean and comfortable
mission completed, a job well done
packed up and ready and quite prepared to go

say your prayers, crawl on your
hands and knees, bow down to Your God, not mine
up against the wall, true believers
welcome home
hear the word of Your God, not mine.

  • Hmmmm. First time I've heard this one. Very powerful, Also a bit disturbing, but then I believe that was the intent, to evoke thought and feeling on a subject most of us do have very strong feelings and opinions about.

  • @Delanahw Yes, it is quite a powerful song, in both subject matter, and in sound.

  • Less than half of one percent of people who have listened to this track give it the thumbs down, meaning, greater than 99.5 percent of people who have listened to this track here like it, and have given it the thumbs up! ;-)

  • Agree, great material. I am a musician myself, so not talking as "just" a fan, despite in my opinion Icehouse is great.

  • Thanks for your comments!

  • Oh, I can't help myself

    But I'm so glad

Iva decided not to be anybody else.

    Do you get that feelin'

    The shivers in your system,

    The inspirationgasm,

    Oh!

  • LOL! 'ere 'ere!!

  • What an awesome song. Is this actually available anywhere? (And to all those nutcase bible thumpers posting here... fuck off)

  • @magentareturn So was there any froot, for you. lol. There was a girl, across the street from us. Going around telling all about Jesus. For she is not here now. She took her life today. She was blind, in the sungod. For she knew not, the truth. It shine a light unto her. For we do know of the dark one. Maybe all came in the big bang. But if it was nothing. How can nothing make nothing. It dose not take a big head, to see what is around you. The book is like a two way street.

  • This song always gives me goose bumps. Awesome, what an artist!

  • @gozaderadrfunk what seems amusing can sometimes be quite dangerous. The inquisitions, the salem witch trials, and current beheadings. Unfortunately groups of people often suffer for a simple beliefs. Fundamentalism can be as poisonous as cyanide.

  • Let there jesus save them. For it was Lucifer, there morning star. Isaiah 14v12 kjv Revelation 22v16 the morning star. They have forgot the Lord of Host. They must think, that we don't read lol. Glory the Lord of Host. Job 41 kjv. For it was told to many, from the old time's. For who can see it clear?

  • @Delanahw Yes we do. I think the church is of the sungod, Lucifer. Isaiah 14v 12 kjv The morning star. Revelation 22v16 The morning star. If one read's a book, they must read it all. Or they will just find thereself at the end. That is my opinion. Job 38 v 22- ch 39-40-41 kjv For who is most wise. For none can take his glory, with out falling. For God is truth. For he told it way before there time. For they do look for the image to save them. And many will play that roll. But they will fall.

  • @zoohead23690 I have a feeling there was once some darkness, hence the interest, which has passed, who would want to revisit something that formed some part of healing, eh.

  • oh look a song like this brings all the frooties out, look below and Behold! Bible bashers galore.

  • @iadobeyou There sungod, in there church. For they all fall before it. For they know not the judgement. Job 41 kjv. For this is why we been them before it , and that, they will become in shame. But that some may find the truth. And the glory of it all. For this is a powerful song. It was there easter sunrise. On a sunday. For it will dry up without the truth. Isaiah 14 v 12 kjv For who can understand God, and why. It is time, for repenting. For it was the curse. Jeremiah 17v5 kjv God is true.
