The former stars of the Satellite of Love (unofficially) hitch a ride with bounty hunter Samus Aran in her phazon-hunting adventures across the galaxy.
NOT OFFICIAL, sorry. The Rifftrax gang did not actually riff the actual game, though it'd be interesting to see them take on games considering how story-driven some of them are and how cinematic they're becoming (Metal Gear, Resident Evil to name a couple).
HOW--
This odd idea occurred to me when I was browsing through my small Rifftrax collection and some instantly reminded me of Metroid Prime Trilogy, which I was playing a lot on my Wii at the time. The moment I heard the riff "That was impossible to do before, because it was slightly higher", it reminded me of the space jump boots in Prime 1. Not hard to figure out what happened next.
Kinda wish I had more than the six Star Wars movies and Twilight (my sister's b-day gift), but these ones reminded me the most of events within the Prime games, mostly Corruption. So I'm sure someone with more riffs could make a better video. I'd love to see what ideas others could come up with and what games could be covered by Rifftrax clips. I was hoping to see others take the idea and apply it to other games.
THANKS--
Great, many thanks to CAPOLAND for giving me permission to use his videos since I lacked video capture capabilities to record from the game. I had to resort to others' videos, and he has the best quality Metroid Prime Wii videos by far. If you want to learn a thing or two about the Prime Trilogy, definitely drop by his channel. This wouldn't have been possible without him.
--BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE DUMB
And as always if you have something to negative to say about the video please do so in a civil and constructive manner. Don't be an asshole because I block trolls. Enjoy.
CREDITS--
Original riffs: Rifftrax (Duh)
Original video capture: capoland (videos used WITH PERMISSION)
Putting the two together in a nice delicious package: SestrenNK (me!)
Game: Nintendo/Retro Studios (duh again)
Also entered this in Rifftrax's Remix 2011 contest, but I didn't win, and it probably didn't help that my video was over a year old when I entered :V. No matter, the fact that it was featured on their contest webpage as an example (the first listed, actually), just to be recognized by Rifftrax and have this video featured on their webpage was a reward in itself. Even GamePro managed to pick it up, and the Metroid Database had it on one of their news pages. Awesome.
-- OTHER M? Nope.
And because I know many are wondering: I have no intentions to do anything like this for Metroid: Other M, mainly due of fanbase pressure, and knowing that people would be watching the video for completely different reasons than I intended. With this video, I threw it into the open as a fun experiment in tribute to the Prime Trilogy, but if I did do another one, there would be certain expectations placed on me or the video, expectations I have no interest in delivering. I've been a fan of the Metroid mythos since before Super Metroid, and found Other M to be a damn fine game. Not perfect but nowhere near the black sheep everyone made it out to be. Yeah, you had story problems that impeded with the actual gameplay, there were certainly design decisions I did not agree with (the Varia Suit when you need it), was bothered by Samus' stance in the ending dialogue ("she was evil but it wasn't her fault") sounding like flawed pacifist hippie logic, could do with less "Where's Waldo?" searching, and needed a completely different soundtrack (aside from certain revisited themes). But other than that I enjoyed the actual game itself for how it played, and welcomed something a bit different - as excellent as the Prime games were, the series couldn't be first person forever, nor should it be. But with all that said, many watching an Other M Rifftrax would be doing so to fuel that need to see the game portrayed in a bad light, in their minds deservedly - not why I would be doing it. If that's what people want out of me, they're not going to get it, sorry.
Plus I don't have that "spark" that made me excited to go out of my way to do this one. I do these things to celebrate games I enjoy.
@SestrenNK Yay! Love the video and the fact you don't resort to name calling in order to win an argument!

@BionicTurtleWizard Of course! Getting under their skin is where the real fun is at. Trolls will be trolls (and later blocked).
Glad you liked the video and thanks for dropping by. :)
