A DEVIL IN DISGUISE !
-
@TheVlogSister. I had no attentions on backbitting or attacking other muslims. My only warning is that we as Muslims have to careful into falling into traps like these. Before I saw any video on them i was familiar with the book by Muhammad Knight. As for being mislead, its not a belief but a fact. I play the guitar/bass occasionally. After watching this i will make an effort to protect myself from becoming like this. we are all sinners but those who repent are the best.

@congeeeee "beware of this "Michael Mohammed Knight" considering the books, and this film. Its another IRSHAD MANJI in disquise.

islam is pure,.respect..

Respectfully, there is a valid difference of opinion amongst Muslim scholars regarding the permissibility of music, so I'm not going to get into that. If these videos make you uncomfortable, then it is wise for you to stay away from them. Just make sure that you detest the actions of the people, but do not judge the people themselves. We all makes mistakes and bad judgement calls sometimes. If you truly believe these Muslims are misled, then make du'a for them and move on...

@TheVlogSister continued. you did say creative and unique expression? But its against islamic teachings. Notice how the guitarist is dressed or the lack there of, he is exposing his chest and saying shahada (staghfirullha!!!). That is one of the reasons why i paused the video. There is a sister who is singing on youtube:
/watch?v=qw7tJMr8e2Q
and she has a website. Dont you think that is a little strange? well, atleast she is not like taqwacores, she is in hijab, etc. :(

I don't know why you are assuming that I'm cool with the concept of Taqwacores, because I'm not...I've seen the trailer before and it made me extremely uncomfortable. All I'm saying is that I find playing the adhan's melody on an electric guitar is a unique and creative expression, but that's pretty much where I draw the line here.

I agree that grey areas are better left alone, in which case, if music is a grey area to you and makes you uncomfortable, then you are being smart by leaving it alone. Fact is, what does "respected music" even mean? Music comes down to taste...

@moorejr1400 continued. Be very aware of things, people, etc who try to be Muslim, many are just satan's tricks. That is how satan came to adam, he claim to be
sincere advisor. These guys will claim to do the same, promote islam, repressive governments. They themselves are nihilistic (note critics of their film COMPARED IT TO FIGHT CLUB!), and sub-secular western, meaning its a subculture even for non muslims. The band uses Islamic buzz words to like Sharia, Taqwa, to draw Muslims
@mydollcommunity No. What I'm saying is that you can't judge him because he likes to play his guitar to the tune of an athan to wake up his brothers to pray. The way he expresses his creativity and the way he expresses his love for Allah is not something that you can judge him by. This fact alone only shows his love for Allah more because he thinks about Allah in every aspect of his life. Including in his music. That shows how much he loves Allah.

The adhan is irreplaceable - it's something sacred and the words mean too much to be replaced by mere sounds. However, I do find it amazingly creative to use the melody of it on an electric guitar. I like the sound of it, and it's very original - it just shouldn't be done with the intention of replacing the actual adhan, IMHO.
