On this beautiful lake in Burma we can see fishermen fishing and rowing in a way that can only be seen here. Also we visit a market and a cigar factory.
The Paung Daw Oo Pagoda houses some very famous Buddha images, that are covered with so much gold leaf, that they can hardly be recognised. Finally we visit the Nga Hpe Chaung, also known as the Jumping cat monastery.

  • I can't tell you how jealous I am, for you to go to that region again. Hope you will enjoy it. That's a great idea about delivering pictures, but I have nothing except those video's and a lot of good memories... Really I fell in love with the country and its people.

  • was this right in naungshwe or do u need to take the boat

  • Hi Joe,

Wherever you are in Nyaung Shwe, you are always near of the canal that runs through this beautiful little town. That's where you can find the boats. After some kilometers on the canal, you arrive to the lake. Our trip was all around the lake, even to the very other side of the lake - it's not that big. If you plan to go, I'm sure you will love it.
