Yes a doctor can report child abuse which this case qualified as under Alabama law. Medical staff isn't just allowed to report but legally required to report cases of child abuse.

And what was there to report...an anomous phone call that says a 14 year old girl is having sex with a man?...and just what would the police do with this information...start a house to house serch for the girl?

the woman on the phone did all that she could do...told her to call a superviser...

But this sting shit is getting out of hand...and it is all for political gain...they don't give a shit about kids unless they can use them.

The bottom line is that Planned Parenthood, if they are truly an organization for women, should be standing up for the 14 year old girl, not helping to hide a possible perpetrator and enabling him to hurt her again. Pro-lifers do not use kids. We love them, and want them to have their own chance to experience life. No one deserves to be killed before they are even born.

For those of you who think that a teenager should be allowed to get an abortion without parental consent, you need to take a few facts into consideration. Abortion is surgery and has the same inherent risks. A fourteen year old is simply not old enough to give informed consent.

If you listen closely, the clinic worker told the girl to "sit over here..." This was not a phone call, this was an in person visit. The clinic should have immediately called CPS and reported the situation.

How about the moral issue of suggesting that a sister might give permission for her little sister's baby to be killed. Imagine how that big sister might feel, not to mention encouraging the possibility of TWO girls deceiving their parents about such a major issue. MANY MANY parents , would be, as I was, only too happy to help support their daughter or son and their grandchild. Nine years later, my granddaughter is a precious treasure to me and we all still live together

Perhaps you should do some more research. Firstly the concern is not ONLY for the girl but also for the baby who CAN feel the pain of the abortion which takes it's life. Secondly there are churches and other organisations out there who will gladly help a young mum or arrange an adoption if she feels she does not want to keep the baby herself. And how many parents really, when they get over the initial shock, would refuse to help their own daughter and grandchild.

The PP worker was trying to help the girl obviously, she wasn't complying strictly to the law but she was trying to help the girl the best she could. I'd love to see what would happen when one of you right winged nut jobs need an abortion but the laws are too strict to give you the help you really need so you end up stuck in a cycle of debt and poverty because you can't afford to care for your child properly.

It's just such a joke that you people would care about the personal choice of another person so much... if you're so caring go help the young girls who struggle to feed their babies or their-selves for that matter... putting your nose in peoples business isn't justified unless you're going to do something about what you're fighting for.
