  • oh and another thing about the spin technique is that it takes more time and practice more than the glide or quickstep it actually took me the whole fb and basketball season to learn but i still work to perfection and have inproved alot since then. the spin i kinda like the dicus technique except your spinning a little tighter and have to hit that power position right or it wont go anywhere. ill try and get some vids up ive had trouble posting them but work on the glide for now it will help alot

  • hey i been doing shot put for 3 years now and i really enjoy it, but over this time i still can only get to about 27ft (my best for girls). i learned how to do the shot put doing the quick step and just punching but this is my last year in high school and i really want to improve and i think the spin would help...do you know any pointers i should know that could help me or anyways that i can improve on the technique i already know?

  • @chanelvanfossan1 well im glad you asked i have actually observed the quick step alot and the problem i usually see i either the release is too early or the problem of getting in the power position correctly. I started witht the same technique but didnt go too far because i couldnt get in the power position and be able to put it out there with all the torque thats why i went to the glide technique and i was able to put more force power and technique behind it but of course it took practice.

  • im going to be uploading new videos for my updated technique for spinning my technique has gotten 10x better and will answer all questions

  • Hey man really nice video, Im learning the spin right now. I have been working with the glide for the past few months but I feel like I can achieve greater distances with a successful spinning technique. Great Video

  • @VettelFanaticF1 thanks an yeah the rotational is great but takes alot of technique and practice the glide is good also and takes technique but alot of quickness in the hips and more power i started off with the glide and taught myself how to spin so now i try and train myself to do both but the rotational is winning at the moment and i know this vid isnt much but im going to try and make updated ones cus i throw alot farther than i do now

  • hey my names Virginia, im in high school and i throw shot put for my school. I was wondering if you had any techniques for keeping my elbow up and landing in a good power position while doing the spin

  • hey, i am a beginner at the spin technique and have only thrown with it 3 times in a meet, i was wondering for a 6 foot 200 lb person would it be better to start high in the back and dip though the rotation until the final explosion or would you recommend a low coiled postion throughout the whole rotation. any tips will help because i am a freshman trying to perfect the spin for my sophmore year of throwing. Thankyou

  • @olliefro13 yes im a senior and when you have trouble with that leg sweep it means you need to work on balance and it doesnt technically have to be quick just on your release as a matter of fact look at some of ryan crouser's spin vids or jacko gills and i will try and throw some new vids up when i can

  • R u high school? Im learning apin now but im having trouple ripping my leg through with speed. Any idea
