Vin Cardinal & The Queens - 634 5789

Taken from Bilzen Jazz And Rock Festival, Bilzen, Belgium - August 24/27 1967.
A caribbean guy based on Sweden during the mid sixties; he founded this exciting combo in 1967.
Vin was born in San Fernando, Trinidad. At the age of 10 he was an experienced member of the Junior Steel Band, and by age 12 he had mastered the Conga Drums, soon becoming an Expert on nearly every percussion Instrument. Vin became an outstanding vibraphone player and at a very young age became the leader of his own group, producing local Hit records. After leaving Trinidad for Europe, Vin established Sweden as home base Vin Cardinal has performed all over the world, Great Britain, Italy, France, Scandinavia, Spain, Israel and the United States.

27 Maart 1967 speelden ze in het voorprogramma van The Pretty Things in het Casino Scheveningen van Jaques Senf. De Haagse groep The Attention speelden toen ook.Te gekke avond en prachtige herinneringen.The Pretty Things moesten helaas de show na een half uur spelen al stoppen omdat ze er een te grote puinhoop van hadden gemaakt (decor achter het podium naar beneden gedonderd).Ja zo ging dat in die dagen.

Het Palladium, een luxe danstent bij het Kurhaus in Scheveningen op de zondagmiddag, rond 1965 herinner ik me, spetterende show !
