amen about the modern "church" being a concert. the world "church" seeks to be relevant and to be friendly w/the world BUT 1Jn 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. Jn 15:19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own:but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. the world doesn't seem to hate today's church does it? apostates

That is an excellent point! Maybe we need some lions to chase us around to see if we are in fact in the faith.

@Ventguy You mean you don't preach the doctrine of tithes? Wow! You are the first pastor I have ever heard agree that tithing is not a commandment for the Church. Un-b-e-l-i-e-v-a-b-l-e! I am so tired of men worshiping men. Why can't we keep it simple: love God and neighbor as self. This covers everything: desire for preeminence cloaked in false humility, love of money, building fund rally. We can congregate anywhere! Also, can't we sit in a circle facing each other, why the stage, huh?

I agree with all four points. How about that.

1. At Velocity Church, I sit on a tall chair, but do stand as well.

2. I am not sure where my ties are at??? Blue jeans, and T's are the normal wear.

3. Tithes are of the OT, in the NT we give proportionally and give love gifts.

4. Worship includes, Doctrine, Communion, Prayer and Fellowship (Acts 2:42) not entertainment.

6- Sermon about Jesus as my big bro, someone i could shoot hoops with. 6- "with eyes closed and heads bowed, would anyone like to blah blah blah". 7- the herd moves to the lower level to our own Starbucks ripoff cafe and "fellowship" over lattes.

I have not been to church in eight months. So ok i went beyond what you were talking about but its all part of the same thing. I worship more in a half hour of talking one on one with good christian friends about Christ than i have in "church".

I am surprised there so few comments for this video because the questions you pose are really thought provoking. The Lord wants us to gather together for sure, but every time i go to "church" i feel like im playing a part in a play:1- Put on Sunday "om ok, your ok" smile mask. 2- band performs some empty" Jesus is love love love" tune. 3- announcements. 4- three song's with 6 lyrics repeated over and over for 15mins. 5-baby dedication and reminder of burrito sale in the lobby for mission trip.
