Most don't know where it's from. Other's think it originated from a movie. This is the true story of the fight against tyranny.

We did it! The (money) bomb was a success! $4.3 million! Coverage on MSNBC, CNN, NY Times, AP, Reuters, etc.

Always remember the 5th of November.

For a more historical look at the Gunpowder Plot, the BBC has a great documentary:

--------------------

There has been some valid criticism of this video. First of all, I didn't start the November 5th money bomb campaign. Someone else decided to attach Ron Paul to this event in history. I'm just tagging along.

1. Guy Fawkes' plot involved killing the king and members of Parliament. In his day, the only way to change the nation's leadership was violent overthrow. These days, all you need is enough money. Neither I nor Ron Paul endorse violent means.

2. No, of course we aren't oppressed today to the extent that the Catholics during Guy Fawkes' time were oppressed and it was not my intention to imply that. But ALL tyranny, big or small, must be opposed! "I have sworn... eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man." (Thomas Jefferson)

3. Guy Fawkes was arrested, tortured, and hanged. But that's why I say that "He did not fail. Because his legacy lives." The people's fight against tyranny is timeless.

4. Every November 5th, England celebrates the foiling of the plot by burning Guy Fawkes in effigy. They probably don't realize that their "victory" would turn into a rallying cry for revolutions to come.

  • Guy Fawkes was a Jesuit. That means he was working for the Pope. And to say that the Catholic church, the #1 source of persecution, tyranny and subversion in the world for the last 2000 years, was being persecuted by anyone, is absurd.

  • @maidenak To deny that the English protestants persecuted Catholics really screams ignorance of history. Yes, the Catholic CHURCH made many mistakes in it's time, but that does not mean that the Anglicans in England and the Protestants in Germany had any right whatsoever to do the same to Catholics. The Tudors were notoriously harsh towards Catholics, especially under Elizabeth's reign. Guy Fawkes was justifiably angry, and NOT an agent of the Church. (Jesuits didn't necessarily work for it.)

  • WARNING!! We will all die in November 5, 2012, you will choose to be part of the illuminati or DIE!! If you choose to die you go to heaven, if you choose to be in illuminati, you go to hell. PLEASE pass this around to warn everybody.

  • What are Bombs really supposed to do? ...I think they're meant to Kill people... ...The United Nations have Bombs.

It's all about how to justify killing people, that's all !

  • What funny is how 'the guy' is burned on the bonfires...

  • @kreacher1976 If you want my view on British politicians. They are ALL in it for the cold cash, sex, and power. Labour proved they were no better than the Tories - all pretty sleazy when it comes down to it. Labour, Tory, SNP, Lib Dem, all of them had examples of expense fiddling and/or sex sleaze. Meanwhile we can't say boo to an immigrant who gets a house, job, and benefits we paid for, because legislation has us all tied up in knots. As a nation, the politicians have Royally fucked us over.

  • @kreacher1976 There's no denying that the UK today is a shithole and utter police state. I emigrated, and I'm not coming back soon. However hardly the same as what Fawkes was about. Blame politicians and bankers for the problems today, and no privacy or freedom. Newspapers prejudice all cases, and act now unofficially like part of the police. Meanwhile peasants applaud and nod approvingly and say I was in the Army, RAF etc. Well bullshit. The 'establishment' is now all those busy-body bastards.

  • @yehrightify I would comment on something about what you just said .....but I'd be dragged out of my house and never heard from again. This country just isn't free anymore like it was at one time. Just think about the events that took place and how easy it was to kill these terrorist at the right time. Politics is a game and we only see and hear what they want us to my friend.

  • @sgilling Why? So you Canadians can win? No sir, we're settling this over a game of baseball.

  • @cyberleaderOri Oh yeh forgot to say your post was Utter Bullshit.

  • @cyberleaderOri Guy Fawkes was a terrorist plotting mass murder and working for the Vatican. How is that any different to Bin Laden working for his faith? Betterment of society my foot. He was working for a foreign power. Deserved what he got.

  • @yehrightify You cant compare Bin Laden and Guy Fawkes. Its like Apples and Oranges. One used violence and terror for his own benefit, to put himself into a position of power, and the other attempted to use violence for the betterment of his society. I will never approve of the use of suicide bombers and the fear of WMD's, no matter the cause.
