  • What's with the surgical gloves? i don't see that you get any paint on you at all. And even if the paint did get on you, doesn't it wash off? Is it THAT toxic that you need gloves like that??

  • I'll have to try to find a source of this brand in Canada. Regular acrylics would have dried up on the pallet in the time this video was made. I would never put regular acrylics out on a pallet in the manner shown in this video. There's about $10-$15 worth of paint on that pallet if the paint is bought in small tubes.

  • If you will try OH paints, you would understand that her comments were honest and exact.

OH paints are sublime - great pigmentation and coverage, rich, and a real joy to paint with. The best and most expensive paint around, with the longest history to boot.

  • I just started changing over from oils to acrylics for health reasons. I love oil paints, first and foremost. I've tried other acrylic paints that were dissapointing to use after being used to oils. This paint, however, gives acrylic some hope! Its pretty darn nice to paint with.

  • truth!

  • The painter isn't 'alvartising' anything. Simply offering a valid and useful opinion.

I wonder did you really 'laugh out loud' and if so why?

  • I disagree. A lot of artists work instinctively or by feel. Some people will naturally prefer oil and some acrylic, gouache or water colour. To say first impressions are not important to a good artist is assuming that everyone was pigeon holed down the same academically trained route. Some would love to use oils but don't like the smell or slow drying time. Old Holland acrylic paints have proven to be a great substitute and this video and reviews found easily via google attest to this fact.

  • "and first impressions mean so much with a new Paint" i wholeheartedly disagree. oils are a right bitch to start. first impressions to any good artist is not important.

second, she says there is not smell, true with all acrylic, but is the smells and senses of the paint not one of the best parts of oils?

    and yes. she is advertising...thoroughly

  • is she atvartising the paint or is she painting lol
