Oops

It was a sunny day out. Somewhere between 75 and 80 degrees. The type of summer day that should be perfect.
I was four, playing outside with the other kids as Carol baby-sat. Blowing bubbles, writing with chalk, hopscotch, playing on the swings, you name it. I was having a blast!
I noticed that over by Brooke and my brother Dave was a relatively big red ball that looked bouncier than ever. I began to walk towards the ball when Dave jumped in front of me and stole it. For a second I thought of just playing with them, but I didn't bother. Dave and I didn't always get along back then. Asking him if we could play together would be equivalent to telling him the world was ending. Therefore, I watched.
Minding my own business, I picked up the lime green bottle that lay on the pavement and began blowing the biggest bubbles possible. I looked up quickly to see Brooke kicking the ball towards Carol instead of Dave. This was my opportunity. I was going to prove my skills and kick the ball over the fence. Or try to at least. Once the ball left Brooke's foot and swerved in our direction. I ran for it! Unfortunetly, so did Carol. As my baby-sitter, Carol lifted her left leg, I came running as almost if it were in slow motion and tripped, leaving me to fend for myself as I flipped over Carol's leg. Face first into the pavement.
"DANII!" cried Dave. As Carol bent down to comfort me, she explained, "David, she'll be okay. Don't worry, be a helpful brother and bring me a wet cloth, hm?" Dave quickly scurried to the front porch, being the best big brother he could.
After realizing that the thick, deep, red drops dripping from my face was my blood, I panicked. Bursts of tears rapidly poured down my innocent, rosy red cheeks. As I lifted my pebble infested hands to the agonizing pain coming from my chin, I felt my teeth. But how? My mouth had been shut. I soon realized that my skin was torn off and little pieces of stone were stuck in the tissues of what was left of my chin.
"Don't panic Danielle! You'll be okay, I promise" said Carol nervously. My brother finally showed up with the wet cloth and I placed it to my chin, while walking inside to lay down. As Dave stayed by my side comforting me, Carol notified my parents that I needed to be brought to the hospital immediately and anxiously explained what had happened.
My mom arrived to pick up dave and I then rushed me to Lowell General as quickly as she could. I finally got to the hospital in just 20 minutes after what seemed like forever and my eight stitches were inserted. Although it did take six people to hold me down and finish the job. After peeing on the hospital blankets and being sewn back together, I left the hospital with the warmth of my brothers comfort and an odd souviner. The blanket that left the marks of my fear embarrass me.
