@BenHutchinson1 It was a TV engineer on a near by mountain. You can hear a somewhat un-edited version by searching Pepcon Explosion - BEST QUALITY, UNEDITED. That is it from a TV show but is the actual audio without all the Hollywood crap.

Who filmed this? I'd like to email them and ask for a raw "straight from the camera" copy of the video, not edited and cut and fake sounds like from the news media. By the way, Youtube used to have such a copy! But I can't find it now :(

You guys wanted to see what a 1KT equivalent blast looked and felt like. This was it! According to the investigators, the big blast was on par with a W55 nuclear device, only without the nuclear effects, only the blast and shockwave.

The cheesy added noises are pathetic. Other than that, the explosion is truly impressive.

I know your right about that. I mean about the added sound effects. You hear the sound the moment the explosion occurs. That's never true. There's always a delay in time before you hear the sound of the explosion. Sound travels at about a 300 meters per second on sea level. Being 1 1/5 kilometres away it would last about five seconds you hear the explosion after it ocurred..
