Molten aluminium with water is extremely dangerous !!!
-
chuck norris can do this in a cardboard box
-
thumbs up if you did mute

@TakeThatTaco look on you tube for home made foundries, there are some pretty good ideas, research which one you want compared to your quality that you need before making your decision

@fuba44 ceramics is the general idea with production melting, it depends on what your planning on doing with your aluminum. if purity is not an issue then it should be fine. 4+ years smelting aluminum experience for companies that then sold out to the chinese, go figure

Ceramic would work, but how many heat cycles before it breaks? Graphic is the choice, but expensive for big ones. Iron ladles and stir rods can even affect the aluminum and render the casts brittle and full of shrink cracks. Fe+Al+O2 and heat equels thermite, that's why the iron chemically reacts and absorbs into the melts and ruins it. And there is no good way to get it out once its in. I use portland, perlite, and fire clay for melting big stuff. Cheap as dirt and makes strong alloys.

is that in there a transistor? lol?
hopefully your next version isn't made out of iron which contaminates the aluminum

Fun fact:
Water and molten aluminium can react in a nasty explosion. With molten droplets raining down on everyone nearby.
