  • Democrats are the drug lords and welfare and free benefits are the drugs. Get off the habit and have personal responsibilty for a change!

  • @usaforlife1776 I also forgot to mention that in this Christmas season the Republicans also tried to block health care for the heroes of 9-11. Have a joyous Solstice.

  • @usaforlife1776 In just the past few weeks we had the Republicans trying to deny unemployment benefits to Americans who want jobs but can't find them, they tried to stop gay patriots from serving in our military, they tried to stop a treaty that would reduce the threat of nuclear war, and they succeeded in giving tax cuts to the ultra-wealthy. I am so thankful to Mr. Dickens for this wonderful tale that shames the greedy people who have ruined our economy and continue to hoard their wealth.

  • @calamagrostis88 No the opposite. You said that the Christmas Carol was the anti Republican message while I think it is the opposite. Prisons and workhouses are government institutions. Democrats want to use government to fix poverty while republicans want to use private charity to deal with poverty like in the christmas carol. Enough about politics. Merry Christmas! God Bless!

  • I love all versions of this classic tale but George C Scott truly humanizes Scrooge in every manifestation, good and bad. Thank you for uploading this marvelous film.

  • @usaforlife1776 I don't understand your argument, are you saying that the workhouses and prisons were a good way of dealing with poverty?

  • @calamagrostis88 Was one of Scrooge's reasons for not donating to the poor was because there were government institutions to take care of the poor? Are there no workhouses? Are there no prisons? Also, Scrooges personal wealth in the end took care of tiny tim at the end of the movie. Correct me if im wrong, but I did not hear we should expand government aid in this movie.

  • The total anti-Republican story, Oh, lets give give tax cuts to the rich, and if we don't get it we will cut off unemployment benefits, and tough luck for Tiny Tim.
