Mike + The Mechanics - Over My Shoulder (2011)

Mike + The Mechanics est un groupe pop rock britannique fondé en 1985 comme un side-projet de Mike Rutherford, un membre fondateur de Genesis. Il est connu pour ses hits Another cup of cofee, Silent Running, All I Need Is A Miracle, Taken In, The Living Years, Word Of Mouth & Over My Shoulder.
Le groupe comprenait au départ Paul Carrack, feu Paul Young (celui de Sad Café, à ne pas confondre avec le chanteur solo Paul Young qui a enregistré avec Zucchero), le claviériste Adrian Lee et le batteur et percussionniste Peter Van Hooke ex musicien de Van Morrison.
Après la disparition de Paul Young (mort d'une crise cardiaque le 15 juillet 2000), le groupe s'est reformé en 2004 sous le nom Mike + the Mechanics + Paul Carrack. L'album Rewired fut suivi d'une tournée en première partie de Phil Collins.
Mike + The Mechanics revient en 2011 avec deux nouveaux chanteurs, Andrew Roachford et Tim Howar, ainsi qu'un nouvel album The Road, prévu pour avril.

Paul Carrack was ACE, agreed! But- this is Mike's band. They've always been 'the mechanics' and that's the point, surely? My mate was at this first gig. I'll be there at another in the next few weeks. We can't wait. It's not like they're claiming to be anything they are not! Paul Carrack was great but at no point was he the headliner for ticket sales. It is what it says on the tin. MIKE and the Mechanics. And what a great choice of musicians!

Sorry but you can not compare the souvereign "Paul Carrack whitling" with "you can whitle if you want too". That's what I miss. Anyway I won't buy any tickets for M& The M today, but I still buy Paul Carrack Cds. It's a matter of taste and you may say "PC was great but at no point..." but he wrote the song together with MR = 50%

@ichill69 That's a shame, to turn your back on the whole experience, but I respect your choice to do that. We can only speak as we find. I never saw the early concerts. But I respect your opinion, and wish I had experienced them too!
