Lawrence Mysak is a champion of the environment, having spent his career helping improve our understanding of natural climate variability and global change, and is internationally regarded for his work on air-ice-ocean interactions and the modeling of glacial and warm climates. His work on the northern seas of Canada has stimulated extensive research on the Arctic climate system.
Mysak is the founding director of McGill's Centre for Climate and Global Change Research and served as president of the Royal Society of Canada's Academy of Science. His contributions have been recognized with more than 27 national and international honours.
