He played Alap, Jod and Surbahar ki taan..
Ustad Vilayat Khan learned the craft from his uncle Ustad Wahid Khan. Ustad Wahid Khan's Surbahar was passed on to Ustad Vilayat Khan. The 'joda' Sitar of this Surbahar was passed on to Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan, Ustad Wahid Khan's grandson.

Thank you, I have listened to some of these maestros, and even met Imrat Khan 2 years ago after a show in St. Louis. The Annapurna Devi clip here on youtube is very fast, f(and very pretty) for surbahar. I did recently hear Kartick Kumar play also. Please don't dismiss Brigitte Menon, though she is a learner, she's had advanced lessons and plays sitar with all her heart, and great skill. With all respects.

@subshrub- please don't confuse between the maestros and some learner... if you want to enjoy Surbahar it would be better if you could listen to the maestros...

you can also listen to the Surbahar of Imrat Khan, Rais Khan, Shahid Parvez, Budhaditya Mukherjee, Irshad Khan, Shujaat Khan, Nishat Khan from Etawah Gharana, or Annapurna Devi, Nikhil Banerjee from Maihar Gharana, or the Senias Dabir Khan and Mushtaq Ali Khan
