A very genuine man of God but a weak leader who is handling the decline of the Anglican Church as well as can be expected.
My only gripe is the fact that the CoE is unable to meet the spiritual needs of the UK and 25 million Anglicans who do not attend prove this.Less than 900000now attend Sunday worship and it;s now the catholic Church that is the biggest denomination.

As an atheist, I can honestly say I wish more religious people were like this man. Atheists would be less strident in their criticisms if we saw good men like this leading the churches.

I think it's disingenuous to suggest any facts are being 'hidden' by the archbishop. It's also probably disingenuous to imply that Christian groups withhold condoms from Africans. In the case of catholics, they just *recommend* sex within marriage and with one partner.

A powerful speech, however it hides the facts the 'Christian based' faith groups continue to preach abstinence in Africa as an effective way of protection for HIV infection and denies people the access to condoms.
1000's of people in Africa and other third world countries are falling victims of HIV because of the churches views on condoms, shame on then

We are grateful for the leadership of Rowan Williams. He has chosen to focus on real human issues. Not church politics. True Leadership.
