The East African Media Institute's 2nd place dance during the Nairobi Province Drama Festival. The dance is adapted from a traditional Luhya dance and portrays the stigma that is attached to disabled people in Kenya.
The dance tells the story of a young couple who are married and then give birth to a baby girl. After the initial celebration, the girl is found to be blind which sends the father into a rage. He blames his wife and daughter for the apparent misfortune and drives them from his home. He then takes refuge in traditional alcohol while lamenting his fate...
