Here's Vanessa w/her therapist doing her drills. My daughter has PDD-NOS. A form of Autism. She was recently diagnosed @ the age of 2 and a half. She will be turning 3 years old. Her services will be ending soon and will begin Special Education in Jan 2008.

  • Me as a tax payer, an American Citizen, born & raised here.. I have never received 1 penny from the government. Everything came out of pocket. She is now in a regular ed class. But it's with great effort & dedication. She still has a hard time getting the words out in the right order. What would you do if your child was almost 3 and still didn't know how to speak with an older brother that is 100% Autistic? I wasn't going to sit there & do nothing.

  • Yes, she IS beautiful and yes, she HAS a diagnosis of PDD-NOS! So what???? This will get her services that she needs so that she can be the best she can be. Is that a crime?? Why should that dr feel sorry for themself?? Because she's getting services or is it because ignorant people like yourself can judge them because of a label. All people are beautiful including those who have been diagnosed with forms of autism. Get a life and quit writing disrespectful comments of people's children.

  • I'm emailing from my ten year old's account. He has PDDNOS. We didnt want to diagnose him at the time cos he has an older autistic sibling who we didnt diagnose, and that turned out all right. However, his needs mean that with a dx he gets aid time in school. His speech is fine but his attention span isnt great. His IQ is enormous. Of course there is nothing to stop kids with PDDNOS becoming doctors or engineers - its about addressing kids needs, not labels.

  • Aww she very cute wear her diaper nice little baby girl you have :)

  • @gemmalover

Exactly. She would look at me like I was speaking to her in Chines.

  • I read some comemnts here on the difference between apsergers and PDD-NOS. There isnt a huge difference no. Neither between two blond persons. Its a bit more subtle. I'd say the Apserger types are more professorial , bookworm types. PDD-NOS is more obsessed and via that obsession knowledgeable about their intrest. Less bookwormy but more superintrested etc. subtle differences. PDD-NOS i dont see as an university student, Asperger, yes. PDD-NOS dedicated if they can do their thing 4 a living

  • @Jeur18 uhm, please do some reading on this topic. Most children are diagnosed around the age of 3, usually because they aren't talking and aren't able to understand things that are said to them.

  • do we all realise this is a child not an object .

parent of child on the spectrum.

  • OK I have a child/who was dx'ed with AUTISM spec disorder...the facility we brought her to claims there is no ASPERGERS there is no PDDNOS there is no DIFFERENTIATION between these "types" and that all dx's fall under the umbrella of AUTISM SPECTRUM. Parents who claim their child has only a "touch" of autism or "severe" autism don't understand, you either have it or don't. It's kind of like being pregnant. You can't be mildly pregnant or "a Little" pregnant. Get it folks? Problem? STIGMA.

  • How can you diagnose such an mental disease as PDD-NOS in that early stage? In avarage , it's mostly around the age of 10 tot 12 i thought. Can you tell me who diagnosed it, and how they did it?

    Kind Regards

  • i hate peopol that says i is not jou dut de pdd nos thats talking i am serius F*ck you
