if you're talking about the older 4.8 no, its not smaller..just lower with bigger wheels then the normal X5, and if you're talking about the X5 M, I think just the way the front end looks makes it seem abit smaller..but its still an X5 nevertheless

well they did make a 4.8is model of the old X5 which looked amazing..it was Porsche Cayenne fast at a cheaper price
