  • MrMusic1983: Rutter is not an atheist. What he said was he was not "particularly religious, but was deeply spiritual and inspired by the Scriptures." There is a huge difference between being "religious" and "Christian". Anyway, the music is what we are on this site for, not "religious" discussion. An inspiring musical work and beautiful performance.

  • Psalm 150 tune was commissioned to write by John Rutter for

Queen's Golden Jubilee in 2002 and performed at St, Paul's Cathedral.

    London Ingland. Well conducted!

  • Awesome! Traditional Anglican; I love it. Praise God!!!!!!

  • @MrMusic1983 : One could argue that many believers are actually atheists.

  • i wonder how the three guys up above got their cues and cut offs. were they being directed from somewhere? could they see the director down at the bottom?

  • I'm not here to argue religious issues, thank you. Whatever John Rutter's faith, he sure writes some terrific pieces of music. This is an amazing piece in an excellent setting. The use of three boys voices in harmony up in the Whispering Gallery of the Dome is truly inspirational. The Queen must have been very well pleased with this on her Anniversary.

  • nothing is like being there listening to such a live "PERFORMANCE" SOUNDS GREAT

  • @MrMusic1983 of course. But you should not forget that the composer it's only a part of the music. In fact, here, the interpretation is basically focused in a religious liturgy (look the church), so, the purpose is spiritual. Sure, you can listen only the music, but this make you only a casual listener, who ignore the true spiritual dimension of the music.

  • @ManuelRelativista Really? You do realise John Rutter is an Atheist, don't you?! This a well documented fact, admitted to by the composer himself.
