  • no one wants to be the next Greg Lugaintus!

  • Exactly, thats what I was saying - the fear of what will happen once athletes come out (ie. the Greg Louganis story) is stopping them from coming out. It will be easier for more athletes to come out once there are more out athletes, but it wont happen unless there are more people like Matthew Mitcham out there

  • The Greeks who invented The Olympics not only accepted homosexuality but expected their athletes to perform naked. I say let's get back to traditional Olympic values! :D

  • Well spoken. You are very articulate. You make excellent points.

  • Any "fag hag" will tell you that feminine qualities in a male is awesome. It makes them much more well-rounded and much more able to relate about things besides football, beer and va-jay-jays. "Feminine qualities" are awesome in themselves, as females are like 'whole persons', whereas males are like 'half a person' ... straight males, that is ;)

  • You are very eloquate and have some nice ideas and thoughts. I just love the way you speak (and look of course ^^)

It's really annoying seeing those stereotypes still exist. But I hope it becomes ever less in the future.

I also like more "feminine" fashion, which means a lot of colours and unisex clothing and sometimes I believe that the fact that I hate doing team sports such as soccer or basketball comes from that inner insecurity..

    Nice blog, dude!

  • This vid it just... perfectly explains everything I believe.... O_O

  • I hate it right, when I go overseas to Melbourne and all these asians think I walk around catching crocodiles with my bare hands! Haven't they heard of a net by crikey?

  • U ARE HOT.... <3

  • I know someone who is extremely homophobic and he believes that a gay man is useless at sports because there are no, or very few, gay sportsmen. I'm actually aware that there was a proffesional footballer who came out years ago (I've forgotten his name), but sadly he was taunted and eventually committed suicide as a result. I think so many other gay people in sports are scared of a similar fate, but when you think about it there's so many people in sports statistically some of them must be gay.

  • immaple: My opinion is that it is easier for women to come out as lesbians then it is for men to come out as gay. To me society values strength and feminine is seen by most as weak. It's more of an issue for men then women.

I myself have stereotyped people as lesbian or gay by the way they look or act.

  • I think athletes stay in the closet because they rely on sponsors for their Career ... not to mention a good money can come out of advertising ... but only if ur straight ......

  • Woow such a serious subject...i just couldn´t focus on his talking ...he has such beautiful eyes! ...=D...greetings"

  • Part of this goes waay back to the 19th century when people were begining to do sexual science and gay rights.

Early theories often suggested that gay men were some type of 'third sex' or a man trapped in a woman's body and so on and so forth.
