2002 Ford Escape XLT with Gibson Cat-back Exhaust

A quick start up and a few rev's of my 2002 Ford Escape XLT after installing a new stainless steel Gibson cat-back exhaust (resonator and muffler), made a really noticeable difference in higher (above 2800) rpm range but it helped the low end as well.

I just put on a AFE cold air intake system and wondered how the exhaust helped..did you put it on in your garage?? did you have a changed air intake system also?? thanks

@greasymarauder Yeah, I did it in a couple hours in my garage. I am using a drop in K&N air filter only, no air intake

Im sure it would sound better then factory, but how it sounds would depend on what brand muffler you went with and if you use a resonator or not. I did use the resonator that came with my cat back

is it a V6 or a I-4?

There is a header and Catback exhaust combo for the I-4. You could also get a cold air intake kit from K & N or AFE. Most Definetely sounds like a Focus.

ok. my parents might be getting me a 2006 escape with the I-4. got any idea if that would sound good with an exhaust on it. i wonder if it would sound like a focus at all because it is basically the same motor.
