We went to Popguns in Indianapolis, IN again. They treat us pretty well there. Blake has been in the Marine Corp but has never shot a handgun. So, this was his first time. He was using Cherish's Taurus PT111 Millenium Compact 9mm. At first he had some trouble with chambering a round. Eventually we figured out he had not fully engaged the magazine into the mag well and the gun would not go into battery. Once he got shooting though, did extremely well, a natural!
The first trigger pull is actually a really cool thing to point out here in regards to accuracy. If you watch the trigger pull at 0:13 you'll see that he jerks the gun downwards right before the pin strikes. I'm very amateur still but I have come to realize that if you have a yank of trigger pull you wont even hit your paper target even if you're aimed dead on the bulls-eye.

The United States Marines? How do you enlist in the USMC and never fire a weapon?

So was the gun just misfiring? With the 2nd mag when it didn't go off and you racked it, it looked like a round flew out. I bought a PT-111 last year and had to send it back to Taurus to be fixed. The firing pin was hitting too light and I had about 70% misfires. got it back and it works fine.
