This is my second video in a small series of face and body painting techniques. The first was using a brush to paint it on, and can be found here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwDE6-alKi8 for part one, and here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6sDwFljBJo
for part two.

I apologize that it looks kind of blotchy on camera, it looked pretty even to me in my mirror but maybe I just need to perfect it more. This is just showing the technique using a sponge to apply the body paint. I used Kryolan's Aquacolor number 064.
Part two of the witch doctor painting tutorial can be found here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8E-FUvBdksI
And this is the costume the body painting will be used for: http://www.diabloiiikore.com/photos/Diablo%20III%20Characters/view_321046_1_1...

  • hey girl was that you at BlizzCon? I was Jaina!!! I loved your costume...haha my boyfriend thought you were african-american you make-up was so good!!! lol

  • @princesskeik Yes, that was me! I loved your costume, definitely one of the best Jainas I'd seen! Haha, I got that a lot, the body paint was supposed to be more of a red hue, but it still turned out well!

  • What was the product names for the paint and the spray? Thanks : )

  • @BeanieD1 Kryolan aquacolor for the paint, and the spray was Mehron's barrier spray. Mehron's Paradise makeup is really good, as well.

  • So question.. once you put on the body paint... how long does it stay on? And does it smear if you're next to anyone?

  • @slyfoot I'm not sure with this brand, but if it's like the brand I used last year, if you use a primer and seal it correctly, it can last all day. I only had problems with my hand having to be repainted halfway through the day but that's just because I was holding a staff, the rest of the body paint didn't need to be touched up at all the entire 12+ hours I was in costume.

  • Out of curiosity, what did you use to paint the latex ears? The same Kryolan makeup that you used for your skin?

Great tutorial so far, by the way!

  • @warcraftgamergirl primer? sealing? man this is why I need you to teach me haha.. I did a bit of research and heard you could use hair spray to seal in the paint.. but I don't know what they mean by sealing?

  • So far, so good. Not bad for a test run...hope to see the video for the final look!
