On Sunday, August 5 at 8 p.m. (ET) on PBS (check local listings,) NATURE takes you to the deepest enclaves of the Amazon for a first-hand look at macaws, with an encore presentation of the The Real Macaw.
The macaws' strong beaks are designed to manipulate, cut, shave, and crack a wide variety of nuts and fruits. Here, a hyacinth, the biggest of all parrots, readily consumes palm nuts.
