The 60's scoop where aboriginal children were stolen from their families? I am a social worker, and I can assure you the drive towards removing children was based on poverty (caused by colonization) and the refusal to hit children (caused by Catholocism=spare the rod). Drinking water was easy to find, it was not polluted by industries at that time

- the fact they didnt have access to clean drinking water

- the dangers of pregnancy without modern medicine

i know it must be one of these things because the only other thing i commented on was the fact your statement regarding 'spare the rod...' being used to discriminate against Aboriginals had no factual or historic basis (the logical default until YOU present evidence it was)

I never proclaimed the ORIGIN of spare the rod and spoil the child, I am pointing to the FACT that there is no cultural counter-part from First Nations history that condones hitting a child.
