Aboriginal people have suffered greatly. This video illustrates the brutality experienced by many Aboriginal people and the response all Australian's must be convicted of.

"Drinking water was easy to find, it was not polluted by industries at that time"

    - it seems your as illiterate of medicine as you are of history. The impure water was not caused by industry you dolt! it as caused by the multitudes of bacteria.

"I am a social worker, and I can assure you the drive towards removing children was based on poverty (caused by colonization) and the refusal to hit children (caused by Catholocism=spare the rod)."

the fact you are a social worker and really really believe it doesnt make it true:

    - you've failed to provide any factual or historic basis for your claim regarding 'spare the rod'

    - nor have you addressed my comparison to modern day child services

  • @types10000 How could you possibly watch a video such as this and defend colonization? Are you aware of the assimilation that took place? The 60's scoop where aboriginal children were stolen from their families? I am a social worker, and I can assure you the drive towards removing children was based on poverty (caused by colonization) and the refusal to hit children (caused by Catholocism=spare the rod). Drinking water was easy to find, it was not polluted by industries at that time

i dont really understand what your contesting:

    - the fact they didnt have access to clean drinking water

    - the dangers of pregnancy without modern medicine

    .etc

i know it must be one of these things because the only other thing i commented on was the fact your statement regarding 'spare the rod...' being used to discriminate against Aboriginals had no factual or historic basis (the logical default until YOU present evidence it was)

lets see if you can use logic this time :)

"First Nations people have been giving birth and drinking water for thousands upon thousands of years"

    - yeh and they suffered from the same problems as the Aboriginals until they began to purify it.

"What you call intellect, intellects call pestilence"

    - no, what i call intellect, idiots like you (who cannot address my claims) call pestilence

  • @twoqute2bstr8

"I am fine if someone wishes to have an intellectual argument, however your argument has only been to say that 'You're facts are wrong' yet you provide no 'facts' of your own"

    - incorrect, you claimed that it was colonization that 'created the bad living situation' however i presented facts that demonstrated life prior to colonization wasnt particularly good.

  • @types10000 "i dont have any misery, just a passion for intellectual honesty (something you apparently do not share)"

    - I am fine if someone wishes to have an intellectual argument, however your argument has only been to say that 'You're facts are wrong' yet you provide no 'facts' of your own that are based on common sense. First Nations people have been giving birth and drinking water for thousands upon thousands of years. What you call intellect, intellects call pestilence.

  • @twoqute2bstr8

"You need better things to do with your time, and most importantly, your misery"

    - i dont have any misery, just a passion for intellectual honesty (something you apparently do not share)

"I am pointing to the FACT that there is no cultural counter-part from First Nations history that condones hitting a child"

    - and i am pointing out that your argument makes factual errors.

  • @types10000 it really is people who post messages like yours that make me passionately dislike youtube. You need better things to do with your time, and most importantly, your misery. I never proclaimed the ORIGIN of spare the rod and spoil the child, I am pointing to the FACT that there is no cultural counter-part from First Nations history that condones hitting a child.
