This is my mums favourite song and mine too .Brings home the injustices of the time, may god forgive the the people responsible because i cant . but i do thank god for the Dubliners.

This is just a fact song .... sad, so very sad for whatever political reasons a lot o' folks died who did not have to die at that time or for that reason, Although, due to Adam, we must all one day die .... for now. Just good, purty work!

@randomidiotic... I think people are missing the point here; it’s not whether Liverpool fans be “allowed” to sing the song to changed words. Of course they’re “allowed”. The point is: this song is about a tragic event in a whole series of tragedies in Irish history. I think that people should have more respect for the sentiments expressed in the song and not demean it by using it as a football chant

i'm english, and I love ireland, i think the irish are a great people that have a lot in common with the english. i just wish that our two great countries could grow up and be proud to call each other friends.
