And day took of art as well.

Takes Gleason off to a tee, lovely comedy without swearing or dumb gimmicks.

I never knew Dennis Day had ALS...that is very unfortunate....his work lives on!
-

A sad loss. Thank you for this rich background information.
-
as a side note...Dennis and his wife were married for 40 years, 1948-1988. his death from ALS at the age of 72 ended the marriage. they had 10 children as well...I have no idea if any of his kids went into the entertainment business under aliases or not.

Dennis was a mimic but ironically, he rarely showcased that talent except on rare occasions. This episode being a good example and there was another one, on the radio, where Jack parodied Fred Allen's show and Dennis played the Ajax Cassidy character {Dennis was Irish for those who don't know, his real last name being McNulty} and he also did the Titus Moody character. Phil Harris parodied Senator Claghorne. Mary played the Portland Hoffa role and Mrs Nussbaum, I think!?
