The Who's closing performance at Woodstock 1969, which includes Townshend's classic stage performance at the end. This embodies all that is rock, and is the best example of how Townshend in his prime was a no-bull guitar player raging with energy and absolute dominance on stage. This is one of the earliest flourishes of punk in my opinion.

It's interesting how this chord progression became the end of Naked eye on Odds&Sodds.I don't believe it was actually a song at that point in '69. They (as a band) loved ending shows with that jamm in those days. The Isle of Wieght & The Coliseum concert clips have some rockin' examples of this progression. I knew the chords were forms of F,C,&G but now I know they are 9s. I love how the pinky & ring fingers stay on the high E & B strings and the the index & middle finger hit the roots

You can get it somewhere, though, I suppose. It's either in a museum, or on sale for hundreds and thousands of dollars.

The guitar was auctioned recently and is in a museum. A roadie retrieved it and it's still in playable condition, although beaten up.

Earliest flourishes of punk? The Who had been wrecking their instruments since 1965.

Pete said in an interview that he was sick and tired of those spineless peace and love preaching hippies and basically wanted them to see what war was like.
There's the reason why John Lydon of the Sex Pistols named Pete as a main influence.

Why is everybody saying that Pete destroyed his guitar at Woodstock, he bounced it a couple of time but in a way not to break it and then simply tossed it away.
