The Christian Faith + Republican [or Democratic, or Liberterian, or any] politics is idolatry. Listen to "Christians" talk whose politics and faith are "intertwined" and you'll see that they talk about politics more than they do about Jesus Christ.

shall i just end your mistery for you;
hello american god believeing folk,
your wrong.
creativists; science is fact its objective, fossils of human and animal remains have been found dating back millions of years so how can it be you believe the world is only a few thousands years old.
you believe everything about god and how the world was created yet you forget that these books were written a long time after any of these events actually happened.

why can't there be room for both creationism and evolution? Did you know that Darwin was a Christ follower too? Just because he recognized the link between evolution and creation doesn't discredit his faith or the mystery of faith. Who says that the time frames that are given are firm? Just as carbon dating has been shown to have flaws, can't the "biblical" time-line we know be of also? There is no room for bickering and finger pointing...

BTW you misspelled mystery.

dosey,

That comment is unrelated to this video. Besides, I would guess that most Christians, including Boyd, do not believe the Earth is only 6,000 years old. To equate Christianity with young earth creationism is a sign of ignorance.

Lotus1145: And a lot of people proselityze a lot of things in a lot of topics: religion, politics, food, music, fashion, etc etc. You new atheists are as much as proselityzers as any religious person, as right-winged or left winged politicians, as McDonalds or Coca-Cola doing propaganda, etc.

Christianity's increasing zeal must be countered in equal measure... not merely because it proselytizes, but because it is dangerous.

You make a categorical mistake in not realizing that God is of a subject that cannot be known by man. Not believing, ie atheism, is not the same as pouring forth a fervor that tries to convert those who disagree with your views. Indeed, that is antithetical principle of problems atheists have against those who are religious. Shame on you.

Not views but truths. Shame on your myth.

this is the problem with atheists, they confuse the finger with the moon..eg. their conceptual framework of the universe with the universe itself.
"Truth" is you imposing a logical framework built in your head on the outside world...and equating a measure of consistency with infallibility..Even Godel, who was much smarter than Einstein understood the limitations of logical systems.
