@NYyankee02 Actually the fingerboard can effect the sound. In this case as it's obviously not made of ebony it will develop grooves from playing as it's more than likely a softer wood. Aesthetically the worn fingerboard in the video doesn't look great especially if he's trying to promote a serious music lesson. I'm a professional violin maker and was just offering some advice. I made no remarks about the player or his music BTW which I think are brilliant.

Nice clean job. You can play this in a slip-jig set followed by "The Foxhunter's Slip Jig." The last note of "Butterfly" is the first in "Foxhunter's."

@brianchulito if his violin has some age to it, changing out the original fingerboard (especially if there's no need to) would not be wise at all. and like NYyankee02 said, the look does not affect his sound. So if it bothers you so much and your not here to appreciate music, go complain elsewhere.
