But what ever you call it --- I WANT MORE ! --- lol Can you think of what would happen to a car full of kid's today at a stop light with there RAP CRAP BLASTING and you light them up with about 2,250 watts of Rattle shaking mama coming from 4 /15s BLOWIN them out of the water ! OoooMG ! I love it

  • Wonderful. This is precisely what I would do at the traffic lights. And I have to drown out the morons.

  • Classic raw rock'n'roll!

  • I love this one!

    Bravo !

  • @russieross but it still rocks. phillips didn't care about that stuff as much as it having the right feeling. the fact that he made several takes is true, but very often would use the first take because it was the most spontaneous and just felt right. i don't think any self respecting musician would make a recording without tuning up... well, unless you're hasil adkins, but that's a whole other can of worms.

  • @rockabillycat1954 I am familiar with Mr. Phillips quote, however, in my opinion, this record goes beyond "imperfect perfection". I don't think that he included flat notes, out of tune guitars of a singer horribly missing the beat. "Rattle Shakin Mama" does not have all those mistakes, but it certainly has the last one. Sam Phillips took several takes of recordings he made. I think he was referring to unpolished musicians instead of the sleek, smooth of the players in Nashville, for example.

  • @hydroy1 i don't have a system like that, but i blast out as much rockabilly out of my 6x9's as i can.

  • @russieross in the words of the late sam phillips... "imperfect perfection". it doesn't have to be note perfect to be a great rock record.

  • This would be a great rockabilly record if Mel didn't keep losing the beat throughout the song. Too bad they didn't make a second take of this recording.
