  • Tambasansang is situated about four kilometres from Basse in the Tumanna district. It is a multi disclinary manding village where all major trade groups reside. Undoubtedly where Jalis(griots) live there must be Julas(traders). One well known jula family- the Koras - originate from Tambasansang. Alhagi Daba Kora, one of Gambia's wealthiest business tycoons came from this village.

  • Where is Tambasangsang in the Gambia?I believe it's in Basse. My Mum's Mandinko and I love their history especially that of Mansa Kankang Musa.

  • Could please tell the the names of the kora musicians?

    thx!
