@jassmandidgeridoo thanks for the comment, Its my understanding that Jehovah means 'I am that I am or I am the one who is' . Yes Jesus pointed to his heavenly Father throughout his life, remember Jesus stated he was The Way, the Truth and The Life, ...I believe that there are a number of ways to get to Jesus but only one way to get to Father God...through his son Jesus he is The only way to Father God.

@jassmandidgeridoo God came down as Jesus to live how he wanted us to live.  He became the perfect example of what he wanted for us. So he often praised God, because even tho he was in Jesus, he wanted us humans to emulate him, and also give glory to God. Just think, Philip asked Jesus to show them the father, and Jesus rebuked Philip by saying "I have been with you this long, yet you do not know me? Do you not believe, Philip, that I am in the father, and that the father is in me?" John 14:8

Youtube is a wonderful invention! I love Johnny Cash and all his songs. Jesus for me is one's own inner good. It the spirit and spirituals express that feeling to a great extent.
