Bartlet's dejection is as obvious to me in this scene as CJ sitting on the stairs in "Take Out the Trash Day", or Sam at the end of "100,000 Airplanes". You really feel for these people in these moments. You feel their frustration as they are wondering "What the hell am I doing here? How can this be worth it?" But as in the real White House -- fighting the quixotic fight -- it is worth it, it is worth it ...
