Record released on February 8, 1969. I have reversed the music and it's a song about Howdy Doody.

  • How about doing "Zig Zag" by the Ohio Express in reverse too? That would be way cool too!!!

  • @BBINGHAM032352 - That's on the flip side of Yummy, Yummy, Yummy and I don't have the 45 in my collection.

  • We used to put the turntable in neutral and spin this backward in order to hear the Howdy Doody thing. Thanks for posting this one!!!

Of course, it screwed up the needle

  • Today we have computer software that reverses it, no more srewing up the needles.

  • Hey, me too!! I had a record player from the S&H Green Stamp store. This was one of the first half dozen records I bought to play on it!!

  • @carolyn1e1s - I had forgotten about S&H Green Stamps. Somewhere around here I have a book or two of Top Value Stamps. I could probably sell them on ebay and make a few bucks!

  • I have this on a 45, used to be my mom or aunts, too funny.

  • @carolyn1e1s Remember Plaid Stamps....they were a reddish color with a girl in a Scottish outfit on the cover of the book. I think the A&P gave the Plaid Stamps and the Acme gave the S&H green stamps.

  • @stevelawner55 Yes, it's the same song but this one has more punch to my ears. The Flying Giraffe is more bubble gummy not that that's bad. I just prefer this one and played it backwards as a kid.

  • Yes,please upload the "Super K" side! That would be great! THANX!

  • The flip side of Angela by Professor Morrison's Lollipop is also backwards. It's called Ruby Duby Doo. It's on White Whale rather than Buddah but was produced by Supper K Productions and written by the same guys. The B side of "I'm In Love With You" by Kasenetz Katz Singing Curcus "to You With Love" is part of the A side backwards and on the wrong speed.

  • @mrmjb1960 You're right and this instrumetal backing was also used for the flip side of Jerry & Jeff's Sweet Sweet Loving issued on the Buddah subsidiary label "Supper K". and it's not backwards. I can upload it if you want to hear it. I have the single.

  • Anyone know if this song is Bring Back Howdy Doody by Flying Giraffe that was released on Bell records around the same time? Also a super K production like the Crazy Elephant was?

  • My oh my. This song has been a curiosity of mine for around 30 years. I've always been freaked out by reversed recordings and been too much of a coward to reverse the song myself when I had the 45. Kept wondering what the song was when played in reverse (or forwards if you chose to look at it like that), let alone why that was done. That's one trivial weight of my shoulders.

  • "Zig Zag" was "Poor Old Mr. Jensen"-the Instrumental backing was used.
